Portraits

For the most part I enjoyed the video we watched in class, but after a while it started to get a little redundant. This is one of the five or so pictures that I took of Christina on 9/18. The lighting isn't the greatest, it's a little dark, but I think it makes her look a little mysterious. I didn't edit it too much, except for cropping it a little. The one little branch on the left side is making me nuts though. If I cropped that out, it would take off a piece of her elbow, then the picture would be off center, which I think would be worse.

Lindsay,

I agree with you that the Deb Cram's photo tutorial ran a little long. Most videos do, something we need to remember when we start working on them.

I like your portrait of Christina. It's different and creative. We should talk in class Thursday about that branch, and see what Fred Field would do about it. I imagine he would have no problem airbrushing it out with Photoshop.

I really like where your multimedia story is going. One thing you mentioned, the kid whose first word was uttered on a horse, really struck me. It's just one of those great developments that can happen in a story to give it more force, and I'm glad you recognized it.

I think you're going to have a good time with this one and tell a meaningful story at the same time.
